Ways to get more leg room?

I just bought a 3 dr Yaris, LOVE it. But, at 6'2", I'm pretty cramped as far as leg room goes. Does anyone know of a safe way to get the seat to move back further? Safe modifications to the factory seat, or aftermarket seats or brackets/tracks that would help? Thanks...

That's why I bought a diesel bug. Try auto specialty fabricators, race car stores etc. but you run the risk of airbag issues and seat belt issues.

I've heard of longer legged people putting shims/spacers into the front bolts to have the seat more angled to their legs.

That occured to me, but it sounds like a lot of hassle, involving (I'd guess) drilling, welding maybe? With all the aftermarket seats, racing mods and such around, doesn't anyone offer the parts (even if it means replacing the seats) to gain a little more leg room?

If moving the factory rails back is simpler than it sounds, hey, let me know!

I'm listening!

It can't be that hard cause we get charged less than $400 to get it done aftermarket. That's not a lot for custom work.

Interesting... I my self am 6' 2 1/2" and drive a 07 5 door yaris/vitz and have no issues with leg room. But to each thier own it is really easy to move brackets back and the seat belt sensor is built in to under the seat. I suggest taking it to a shop to get it done for me to get a custom bracket made and installed for my racing seat it was less the $170 cdn.

Good luck and just look around for a shop that does fabrication, But maybe do not even need that as you have the vrackes, rails and seat your just un bolting it and finding a secure mounting area to mount it.
