Difference between sedan Base+CD and Sedan-S

Hi Guys,
Sorry if this is a FAQ but I priced a Yaris Base 4-door with Convenience package and the invoice price comes out to be $13,060. A Yaris S 4 dr has pretty much the same thing already included (S Package) for an invoice price of $13,885.

What exact is different between the two trims?

Thx
Trekker

Howdy Trekker.

Believe it or not, I don't think that has been ask that often, Yaris section doesn't get much traffic. Remember to try to search first next time if you think it's a topic too often asked.

Now about your question. I had a similar question...but it had to do with the base model with the power package and the S model. Here is the thread: devil's advocate for yaris vs yaris s .

That said, though I forget what the convience package gives, between the S model and the base, the S has 15 inch wheels, 60/40 rear bench, the body kit, and the mp3 stereo. Interestingly, the S doesn't have power accessories. Not sure if the S or the convience package has ABS, but it's included in the power package.

Happy Shopping!
Dave

Thanks Dave. AFAIK (per Edmunds) the Convenience Package on the base should include 15" steelies AND MP3 jack and CD player:

CQ Convenience Package
Includes 15" x 5.5" steel wheels, P185/60R15 tires, rear window defroster, 60/40 folding rear seat, AM/FM stereo, single CD player, MP3/WMA playback capability, auxiliary audio jack and 4 speakers.

S is supposed to have the 15" steelies and MP3/ jack etc STANDARD ... but then what else is different to warrant the price difference?

Exactly!. That's why I went with a base model with the power package. They are mainly charging you for the nifity body kit..and fogs? (does s include fogs?) And I'm assuming you want either in manual right?

Yup manual all the way!

S does not include fogs - they are separate for $110 and rear spoiler is $435 and I don't care for that either.

Good, looks like a base with Convenience package is the way to go. Unless we're missing something obvious that is standard on the S?!

They give you a nifty "S" badge...it's even in italics for you.

Edit: Don't forget to make sure you have a Tach. That's what I think comes with an S...besides chosing a package. Tach standard on all Sedans I believe.

Quote from my other thread:
New for 2008After making its debut for 2007, the 2008 Toyota Yaris receives a direct type tire-pressure-monitoring system and a parking brake unlock reminder system. A Sport Grade package features front and rear spoilers, amber optitron meter, tachometer, sport seat fabric, leather steering wheel and shift knob and S badging.
