Yaris seats out, what next?

I recently took out the back seats in my '08 Yaris... ever since then I've been trying to figure out what I can put in the back to make where the seats use to be completely flat. Any tips?

I don't understand what you want. Do you want a flat storage area in the back to haul things? Are you just asking for ideas of what else you can do with the back seats gone? Please specify what you actually want to achieve.

Umm, I guess I'm just looking to make the back completely flat for a storage area. I'm just trying to figure out exactly how I should/can go about doing that.

^^^ I guess you can mark out the total area allowed in the rear area (using some measuring tape, cardboard cut-outs, etc) to make a template. Then perhaps you could buy a large sheet of plywood, outline the template on the plywood to be cut out, and there you can lay that plywood which can snuggly fit into the rear area for storage. You might need to make a wooden (or metal) frame or so underneath the plywood if you want some compartments, and you might need a frame structure to sit where your rear seats once were, to support that plywood.

This really depends on how handy you are (on woodwork, metalwork, drafting, etc). If you have resources and tools available, and if have some fabrication know-hows and the will to do it, nothing's impossible

PS: Are there any screw-holes (which the rear seats use to secure to the rear floor) as mounting points for the said "structure"? It'd be wise to use and integrate what were already available

Cool. That's actually not a bad idea at all. I'm pretty good with things like that... and I have plenty of friends that can help me out if I run into any trouble. Thanks for your help!

Would you post some pics of the car with the seat out? I'm thinking about doing the same thing and they would save me taking the seat out to see what it looks like.

Thanks!

Good luck with it, and let us know how it goes (pics would be wonderful too) This could even be a DIY stickie-thread
