03 Echo belt

I have a belt squeeking (usually when it's damp outside or the car is cold) on my 03 echo. I believe it's the one that runs around the alt. Is this an easy repair for the do-it-yourselfer? Doesn't look like there's alot of room to work or do you have to come in from the bottom. Should all belts be changed at the same time?

Just became a member today after browsing around the site. Seems like a very helpful and interesting site. Love my Toyota and can't wait for my 98 Jimmy (probably like swearing on this site) to die so I can buy another Toyota!

Welcome to the site!

As far as the accessory belts, I believe you change them as they get worn. Now this shouldn't keep you from inspecting the other belts and replacing them as needed.

As far as the ease of repair, I'm not sure, I'd have to get back with you on it. My yaris (same engine, just updated) is only 8k miles. I would have to consult some of my scion friends with the same engine. Considering it's a toyota, I would bet it is an easy job, though it looks tight in there.
