possible woods 4wd

Are there any mods I can do to my 86 w/ a 4A-C? I've asked around locally and just got a look of "why"? lol I'm just curious and would like to build a "fast" car out of it. I'm mostly going to use it to beat through the woods. On the other hand, are there any lift kits or plans to build one at home? I know there are for Subaru Brats and stuff (friend is building one with an 8 inch lift!).

I know a good one: Convert it to a 4A-G!
Because it's already got an 'A' series engine, it'd be a fairly easy swap. Just make sure you get the carbuerated 4A-G, rather than the fuel injected 4A-GE. Because the engine you have is carbuerated, it'd be alot more hassle than it's worth to convert the entire fuel system as well.

If you wanna lift it, I suppose the easiest way would be to do a custom job, using suspension bits from some other vehicle, like an old Tacoma, or T100 or something like that.

there is no such thing of a carburated 4age...

all 4ag's are efi....

for your 4ac there is not much to do but you can always modify you engine bay to get a 2tc or 3tc they are much more "upgradable" but its a pain to fit in a car that as a 4a engine...

I don't believe I contradicted that fact in any way.

Sure there are carbed 4AGEs, just not from the factory. According to some people a properly set up carbed 20 valve 4AGE will produce more power than an equivalent EFI 20 valve. I'm not so sure, but I am 100% sure there are people out there with carbs on their 4AGEs. a good set of mikuni or weber side draft carbs will do you good without having to dick around with EFI.
