Acceleration speed

Hi guys,
I just bought a used 2003 Echo (Automatic) and so far I'm in love with it. It sure beats my old Sunfire!

The only small thing I've noticed, and I was wondering if this was normal, is how long my echo takes to get to 100km/h when merging on the highway....
Most times I can't get to 100km/h at the end of the merging lane- I can usually get to +80km/h.
Is this normal? I have my pedal pressed all the way down... If this is normal - any tips on giving it that extra boost?

I have an auto 03 model as well. Well its an auto so don't expect much. Yes its a nice auto but it does sap power. I guess if you get a reworked exhaust and maybe an intake you won't get a "boost." or get some NOS.

But seriously I don't think its a problem unless the tranny isn't downshifting properly. Sometimes their might be a slight delay because its an auto, mine sometimes has a slight delay but it doesn't happen much.
