USA Yaris aftermarket tach installation?

Purchased an aftermarket tach and pod for a roof column installation.(2008 USA Yaris Hatchback). Would think the RPM connector should go directly to the ECU, don't have wiring diagrams. Guess I could hook up a V/O meter and see which pin causes the needle to run up/down the scale while hitting the throttle. From what I understand the four-door comes with a tach and therefore the ECU connector plug is different so that can't be used and followed for a hatchback install, true?
Would appreciate an individual who has completed such a project to answer, no guessing, I can't afford to buy another ECU!!!
Thanks,
Maddog

USA Here is what I did...

First, install everything on the drivers side near the far let side of the dash. Connect the power either to the fuse box (couldn't do it myself), or like I did, the little capacitor under the center of the dash just behind the top/center A/C vents. I connected the light wire to the 4-way switch in the dash, (some experamentation may be required). Then connect the ground to the frame wherever it will reach. Finally, Connect the RPM wire to the Toyota dealership connector thing, just below the fuse box. Again, some experamentation is required, but eventually one of them will cause the needle to rise to about 600 RPM while on idle. Put your car back together so it looks like you never did it yourself, and you are done. Any questions, let me know and I will help as much as possible.
