What are the similarities btwn these engines? my goal is to find out if i can use an `05 1ZZ intake manifold and TB on an `08 1NZ. i have yet find any yota engine guys that can give me a good answer.

intake manifolds arent interchangeable, but the throttle body off of a 05+ 1zz engine will fit on a yaris...

The trottle fit but the diameter still littler than the TB diameter. So the gain is not a super gain, you must port the intake manifold to obtain gain. Im building an aluminum intake with a big port I'll soon show differences in HP gain with the intake and the 1zz TB. I'll be selling it around the $300 but I need to see how is the movement here on P.R. and then I decide to sell it on ebay.
