Canada 01 Echo bogs down at WOT

I don't have the money or resources until payday to check the engine codes.
however I was wondering if anyone has had this problem in the past that could help.
When driving through the gears (5 spd manual) the engine revs fine until I press the gas past 3/4 pedal, then it just bogs instantly until I let off the gas a little.

My car will idle perfect, and the clutch is fairly new.

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks for your time.

Thumbs up fixed

I did some searching and found that after cleaning the MAF sensor, the car runs like new again!
I love a cheap fix!
The sensor probe in the MAF was caked with a black layer...soaked a Qtip in rubbing alcohol and carefully cleaned it off and dried it.
After reseting the computer by disconnecting the battery...runs like a charm!
Thanks for your time!

Could be a fuel filter? But have your code(s) checked before you spend money trying to guess what the problem might be. If you have the tools and feel like it, you might want to try looking at the MAF meter to see if it's dirty. There should be one exposed wire, maybe a couple more wires that may be hidden...not too sure about the layout. If they're dirty looking, clean with q-tip and alcohol, or CRC MAF meter cleaner...a scanner will check the flow of the MAF at wot...calculated engine load should go over 80% at wot. Last one I came across would only hit 61% at wot. It didn't have much top-end power until I cleaned the MAF meter.

Sweet. I took too long sending a reply, it appears.

btw, if you noticed one big wire with a brownish tip, there might be 2 more hidden up high in the sensor. If so, they'll more than likely be dirtier than the exposed wire.

Glad you're back in business.
