ipod interface

just bought an 08 yaris and got the ipod interface with it. i didn't realize that you wouldn't be able to see the song info and the dealer failed to mention it. so i was wondering if i should buy the single cd mp3 capable cd player from toyota because someone told me this would allow me to see my playlists as well as the song title? is this true and is it worth it to buy from toyota?

Strange, I see the track text on my factory sounds system display. It shows for most CD's but not all however. My Yaris is a 2007 hatchback with power and convenience packages.

Hey I had the same question, My friend just got an 08 Yaris Sedan not too long ago and I got them the iPod cord to connect to the aux port. You cannot control the ipod through the stereo controls, I was wondering if there was a way so that you could in fact control the ipod through the stereo controls and not have to fumble with the ipod while driving.

Yeah, I think you have to have that particular head-unit to get the full capability. We have that stereo, but we use regular MP3 players vs an Ipod, so we don't get to use the folder option on the stereo itself anyway.
