Rims/Tires for 04 Echo

Hi all,

I'm in need of some new summer tires for my 04 Echo. I currently have some size P185/60R15's on there. I could buy some more of those, but a friend recently wrecked his '00 Volvo S70 so I want to know if I can use his rims/summer tires. The info on those: 195/60R15. I don't know if the Echo can handle the extra width...I can't seem to find anywhere that sells tires for Echo with 195 width, so I think they likely won't fit, but any guidance would be great.

Thanks in advance for your help!

how wide are your rims?

1010tires.com has a pretty good tire size calculator....

Tire Size Comparison

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
185/60-15 4.4in 11.9in 23.7in 74.6in 850 0.0%
195/60-15 4.6in 12.1in 24.2in 76.1in 833 2.0%

looks ok to me when you compare to the 185's but look at the difference with 175/65r14, you're supposed to be within 3%

Tire Size Comparison

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
175/65-14 4.5in 11.5in 23.0in 72.1in 879 0.0%

volvo rim use depends on its bolt pattern and offset....youll need 4x100 bolt pattern and about a 40mm offset.....

But the tire size should be OK. Sell the rims & keep the tires...
