Really?! I don't have anything like that on my air filter box.....is that normal?
Again, I'm a 91'tercel 5spd DX model.

Is it possible someone could've taken it out?

Got any pics/diagram of where it should be/what it looks like?

It plugs in on the firewall side and sorta looks like a lame bullet with a small round point. If its been pulled then theres a chance it might be dangling around somewhere between the airbox and the firewall. IF its missing then it could affect your mileage numbers and who knows what else.

It isn't there....there's nothing sticking out of my airbox except the tube itself that goes to the TB.

UPDATE: I found it....classicly hanging right beside the firewall, pulled outta the airbox.
All this time...all that unfiltered air....tsk tsk tsk

check your throttle body for carbon build up. Take it to a local shop for a motovac fuel injection service to help get rid of the carbon in the intake and on top of the valves and such.
