Yaris is more akin to the Vitz or Echo H/B. Essentially the same car with the hatch body on it. It's equipped differently depending on what country you buy it in (UK has 1.0, 1.3, 1.5L engines plus a diesel version, etc.)

Echo is also known as the Platz (Toyota Japan).

However, as I said, same car, different body.

Nope, in Japan the Echo Sedan model is called the Platz.

Going to buy a hatch.. not bad at all. FYI, there might be some new stuff coming for the 2005 models. If you can wait, you should. Even if there's not, you could buy a 2004 model at a discounted price.

Yeah, the hatch is not bad at all in terms of looks and design. I'm looking to buy a new car in the srping and depending the price, i might do it.

I asked this because I was wondering if alteza style taillights from a euro-spec Yaris would fit on a northamerican echo hatch. I'm convinced it will. Just to play it safe; i asked you guys.

heres a pic(or 2)
