USA Warranty

I have 09 Yaris Sedan. Should I buy extended warranty for 1300? The warranty cover 90 percent of the car. Plus I got free maintenance and car wash for as long as I own the car.

Well, it's really up to personal preference. The honest truth is nowadays, you probably won't need it. Most likely, if there's any lemon-ness to the vehicle, you'll find out about it within the first few months in which case you should be covered by the standard warranty. If you make it out of the first year with no problems, then you probably won't need it for the next 6 years.

When you say free maintenance, do you mean free oil changes for the warranty term or really for as long as you own the car? At 40 bucks a pop (assuming no dealer coupons), that's worth 560 bucks over 7 years so I suppose you could say that lowers the cost of the gold package warranty to 740 dollars. But I would make sure that's what they mean.

That being said, I bought the full 7 yr/100k mile warranty, but I did so mostly b/c I got twice as much on my trade-in as I thought I would - so I spent it on the warranty. It is a nice little piece of mind thing and even though I know I probably won't need it I sort of feel like I got it for free. I only got the first three oil changes free though, so that's why I'd make sure of what they told you.

If a Toyota warranty some dealers offer lower prices, the warranty need not be purchased at the same location as the car.

This subject has come up at TN, suggest a site search to find posts. Might be able to get one for $6-900.

To Warrant, or Not to Warrant...

I just bought a 2009. My plan is to check all available RELIABILITY reports (Consumer Reports, KBB, etc.) in 2.8 years and make an informed decision then.

It was promotion from a brand new dealer that has been in business less than a year, Hooman Toyota in Long Beach. Free car wash, oil change for as long as own the vehicle. I bought the warranty from Elmore Toyota. But, I can still cancel the warranty anytime before the bumper warranty expire.

Ya, I'm thinking of canceling my extended warranty. Do you know if we'll get full value(what we put in)?
