I wanna auto-x my wifes '00 echo.. help!

Hey all..

time has not been kind to her 2000 echo. it is a 4dr with 175k on it...

I would love to find some used lightweight wheels and sticky tires for this season.
  • what wheels from other vehicles would fit (corolla, celica, other makes, etc).
  • where the heck do I find sway bars?!?? I have been searching with no luck.
  • will other toyota seats bolt into this car? im from a long subaru history, and most stuff is swappable, is toyota like this? will a nice set of celica seats bolt up?
Help this well beaten up car start a new life as an auto-x beast!

does TRD parts for the new scions fit the 00 echo???

ugh so much to learn!

you may want to check out scionlife.com....lots of used parts there you could grab for the echo.....pretty sure all the parts from an xA and gen1 xB bolt up the echo

also try neverenoughauto.com.....good sight that i buy a fair amount of stuff on (he's big on matrixowners.com) but you may have to email them to find out what they have for the echo as theyre still updating the parts lists on their new site....

for wheels you can use just about any 4x100 patterned wheels that are 5.5" or wider....offset is around 42 or 45 stock.....lots of lightweight stuff out there.....id aim for 15x7's w/ some 205-50-15 r comp tires if youre planning to auto x

also, id just get firm coilovers rather than sway bars....but it also depends on what class you want to run. hyperstock you can get r comps and a rear sway bar, use shocks w/ adjustable dampening and youre set (though maybe run w/o rcomps due to the high center of gravity....)

personally, i think if you auto-x for fun just get some stiff coilovers and some light rims w/ r comps....

edit: that being said, i ran h-stock on fuzion hri tires (185-60-14) on steelies w/o power mods and was faster than cars w/ twice the hp that my yaris...
