97 3AC Carburetor Info

Hey I'm brand new to this site and have some questions.

I've got an 87 DLX 4wd wagon, and an 86 SR5 4wd wagon parts car. The 86 is not insurable and has less kms than 87.

What kind of mileage should you be getting with these cars? I never get more than 26 MPG. Everyone tells me these carbs are very complex and hard to rebuild yourself? Opinions.

I do everything myself and I have this car awesome except for the carb and some rust issues.

I'd love to find some fenders that aren't rusted through and a new tailgate if possible. I'd pay for shipping and could trade other parts if anyone's interested.

And is there anything somewhat cheap that you can do to get more power out of these engines?

Sorry, I really don't know much about those old Tercel's. Not to mention anything with an 'A' series engine. Try posting in either the Corolla forum, or the Tech forum, and you could probably get some better answers.
