stock lights vs after market

I have a question. I didn't really like my stock lights so on my 2005 echo hatch. so I got sivania silver star install since they look better and one always burns out of ten month. So then I came up with the billiant idea why not get hids lights. So now I have the same predicament they one burns out after 10 months. what is the problems is it because they are oem and somehow they burn out quicker or am i just really unlucky. thanks

Did you make sure you cleaned it off with alcohol? The silvania silver stars are known to burn out in under 1 year. I don't know what to say about your HID bulb... did you use an actual kit or did you just go out and by a pair of bulbs labled HID?
