Windshield Crack

Anyone know of any Service Bulletins regarding sudden crack in w/shield directly above the front defogger vent. This pretty well traced the vent left to right at a height of about 2.5"above the bottom of the windshield. This showed up after our coldest spell this winter. It is her 2003 Echo.

I have exactly the same problem has your daughter, for the second time since I got my Yaris (2008). Last time, I just paid to get the windshield replaced, but I intend to go further this time, since it seems to be a common issue... Same place as you, a crack that starts in the middle, 2,5 inches from the bottom... goes almost all the way to the left. I think you might be right... temperature went from -20 to zero Celsius in a couple of hours... no sign of any impact. Please, if anyone had the same problem, let me know what to do. I'll call my retailer on Monday, we'll see what they'll say about it...!
