Cold Start - 2002 Echo

I have an 2002 Toyota Echo, 63k. I had oil changed and the Dealer recommend I have the Throttle Body Cleaned. Ever since then it when Cold

Note: Ran Perfect before the Service. Same tank of Gas!

Stalls on Startup
Very Low RPM on Startup

It's fine when warm (after 20 seconds).

It's in for 4th visit about this. Dealer cannot figure out what they did.

Needless to say next car won't be serviced by "DownTown Toyota Spokane"

Possibility of a MAF sensor problem when the air box was removed to clean the throttle body, the mechanic might have bent a pin in the connector or bent the sensor in the removal process or he may have left an air hose off.You also might want to dump the dealer and search for a reputable local garage.

Talking It worked today

Dealer said it started right up today. I only does it 1 in 4 times. And then if it's only below freezing (cold). Today was very cold (18). Tomorrow it going to be 3f.

I plan on leaving it until Friday. 4 Days. It's not a biggie, just annoying. The Car will be given to my Son when he passes thru (Getting out of Army).

I wanted it fixed. No time left (weather will be in 40's in 2 days).

Guess who we are not shopping at for new car? If the maintenance dept cannot do their job I won't buy a car from them.

End Story

I read your post to the Dealer Service Dept, they said the Check Engine light would go off if any sensors were not working.

Of course it took them 2 Years to fix the "check engine" light problem before. They had to call Toyota and get help. Bad Cam Shaft!
