okay, question. If that is available as a whole car with cage and all the goodies, could it not be available here stateside as a dealer option?

nope. no way. the japs will keep that to themselves.

first off, it's right-hand drive. second, i doubt there are many customers wanting to mod and tune for race use only in North America. The echo hatch itself/vitz regular production car isn't even available in the US.

however, for those wanting the similar car, it's easy.

just add the little mods posted above, and gut the car out as much as you can. also, take out both front and rear re-bars and buy the jdm bumpers, or just a copied japanese kit for it, which will remove the disgustingly huge overhang us here in canada get.

My thing is that it is just parts. Why wouldn't Toyota atleast offer them? They are not RHD specific. I would snatch one up in an instant. Who knows it could be the next one make series like the miata or neon.

Toyota must feel that they have nothing to gain by offering any of that stuff here, so it doesn't get offered here. It's just that simple.

exactly... however i think that with the right part numbers or great parts counter service, or maybe a few calls to a japanese dealership, you might be able to get a few parts.

if you're going to inquire i'd like to know the prices on that tachometer or the digital cluster thank you very much.

I was wondering about that the digital gauges too. My cousin has a yaris with the digital gauges and it looks so much better than the gauges that we get in canada. So anybody know how much one of those things are?
