2002 Echo Not Starting

Echo has been running beautifully, until a few days ago, it refused to start.

I've changed the plugs, checked for spark, injectors are pulsing, changed the battery, starter motor is turning over, compression is 50-100-100-100 roughly, fuel pressure is 40-50 psi.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. I am completely stuck on what to check next.

P.S Someone mentioned a camshaft position sensor recall, does this include 2002 echos???

I think checking for any codes is next. 50 PSI is not good, but it should still run on three.

Thanks for your reply, I checked valve clearances today, everything was in check. Ended up short circuiting the fuel relay and draining the fuel.

Put some some new fuel in it, purged the injectors and let it flush through for a bit, and it started up no problems..arhh.

So yeah, just bad fuel it seems?

The recall I got on my 2001 Echo was for the crankshaft position sensor. Don't know what range of Echos was covered by that.

Wonder what's up with that one cylinder being down on compression?

What does the plug look like on that 50psi cylinder?Could be a broken ring or valve but shouldnt prevent the car from running

Did you try the old trick of squirting a little oil in the spark plug hole to see if it brings the compression up?
