Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows about a button above the auto. gearshift that says anti shift lock. I bought the 91 tercel used and it did not come with an owners manual. What does this button do and how is it activated and de-activated? Anyone out there know?

Basically lets you move the shifter whenever you want. Know how normally you have to have your foot on the brake and the car has to be on to shift out of park? This overrides that. The only time I would see it useful is if you needed to get it into neutral to tow it or something and didnt have your keys on you.
