USA '02 Echo spark plug gap

I'm replacing the plugs in my '02 Echo and found a conflict with the correct plug gap between the plug manufacturer [NGK] and my service manual. The manual calls for a gap size of 0.043 and the plug comes pregapped at 0.032. Which is correct? Looking on the auto parts stores website they list all NGK's at 0.032. I'm using a standard plug and would like to know what gap to use. Thanks.

There's no need to gap the plugs for this car unless it's really off.

Either gap will work fine. There's no need for high precision.

Thanks, I put them in at the factory gap [.032] figuring that was the way to go. The old plugs were worn to 0.54 and were the main reason for the check engine light to keep coming on. Plugs changed, light out. Life is good as I'm back to 43+ MPG around town.
