Canada 195/65/R15 for echo

My father in law has some cooper winter tires he had on his Corolla from last year, wants to get something else. He has 4 tires(195/65/R15). Will they fit ok on my wife's 2003 echo and her stock 15" rims ok? I'm thinking yes but wanted to be sure before I say yes, I'll buy them. thanks

They might rub. 195/50-R15 should work.

I only have 14" tires (stock size, 175/65-R14). I checked the Miata.net tire calculator and 195/65-15 is off by 8.8%. 195/50/15 is only off by 1.2%.

195-65-15 are waaaaay too tall to run on the echo w/o seriously screwing up the speedo/odometer (like n00b said, to the tune of 8.8%)

I'm not too worried about that, more worried if they will fit or not.

I lined them up, they are a little bit taller, so being that they still had almost full tread and the others are down to the wear bars/plus the weight of the car... I'm hoping I'm alright?

I had 195/70/R14s (so smaller rim, but taller sidewall) on my Echo and they do rub. The front didn't rub too bad except pulling quickly into steep driveways, but the back rubbed very easily. I had to remove the mudflaps and they'll still rub if I have people in the back. I've since changed out the fronts, but left the back ones on, since I seldom have anyone with me in the car. They also dramatically reduced mileage (though some of that would have come from the mis-calibration of the speedo).
