Canada 2007 Yaris does not like the heat!!!

I found out that on extremely hot days, my 2007 Yaris will not start. Fortunately it is a standard, and can be push started.

This only occurs when outside temperatures exceed 35 degrees Celsius, and the car is parked in the sun. Has anyone else had this issue and been able to address it?

thanks in advance,

Paul

You must be on the west coast as we havent had hot temperatures here in the east yet this summer. When i go visit my parents in Florida my 08 Yaris starts fine in 95 degree weather.Just a guess but try venting your gas tank before trying to start it as there maybe some kind of overpressure sensor some where in the gas system.
Also make sure your battery terminals are clean as the high humidity maybe compromising their connection.

Yeah, it's still under the manufacturer's warranty, have it checked.

Smile

The fuel injection system is supposed to hold a residual gauge pressure of about 2 atmospheres 5 minutes after shutdown. Keeps the fuel from boiling under a hood with a hot engine and vapor locking. Yours could be losing pressure and forming bubbles in the lines. The dealer can check and fix that if necessary.
