Echo Water leak ?

Hi All,

I just purchased a 2001 from an estate sale with only 30k miles on it . I noticed tonight after driving with the defroster on water is coming out of the bottom of the car like you might see with the AC on a very hot 90 degree day.

My question is this common or should I take it in to be checked?

You mean the front windshield defroster?

When you run the fans to the windshield, the A/C automatically kicks in to help dry up the air helping to clear up the windshield faster. The water leaking is is the water from the A/C.

Run it on heat and just to the middle vents and see if you get the same problem.

update

Well I took the car to my local dealer and after a quick look he said everything was fine , No leaks coming anywhere and the water was from the evaporator on defrost.

However what I did find of some concern was the radiator took half of gallon of antifreeze and the completely filling the overflow bin, boy I sure hope nothing is leaking inside the engine.

I think it 's ok. No need to worry about it too much, just keep to check it often.
