2001 Toyota Echo - takes forevery to fill gas tank!

sorry, that's ' "FOREVER" to fill'

Hi there. I have a 2001 Echo 4 door sedan, and for a while now, like a year or more, I have just dealt with the issue, but it's getting frustrating. Whenever I go to put gas in the tank, it wants to come back up the filler neck and overflow... and that's even with the tank below 1/8 full, and it's right away when I start filling too...

If I hold the gas pump on only a little bit, then I can fill it, but it takes forever and it's starting to frustrate me!!

I work on Chrysler stuff all day here... but I'm not sure exactly what all those lines on the tank are supposed to do, and which one to check for some kind of plugged vent valve etc...

anybody have any ideas I can work with?

Thanks!

OOPSEY

So the last time I had the filler neck down, it looks like I didn't properly check the one main VENT LINE, and it was rotten! plugged SOLID with rust.
so I cut the rusty parts out, patched with fuel line, and I'm all good now!
YAY!
