need help cluster problem

hello guys
yesterday i bought 2000 toyota Echo which have problem with the speedometer .the car have 208569km on it and like to know if i change the cluster and put the used one will it show same kilometer which is in my car or diffrent kilometer what ever is in the other cluster?

You should be OK with a swap as these are pretty much Leggo plug'n'play, with big color-coded block terminals so you can't get the wiring wrong. What's the speedo doing wrong?

well i when i bought the car nothing is working in the speedometer.dont know what is wrong the previous owner told me that the cluster need to be replace.so i like to know the kilometer reading is it saved in the cluster or ecu?some one told me if i get the cluster from scrapwayd what ever are in the cluster i will get that km reading.is that true?

I do believe the odometer count is stored in the speedo and does display whatever it recorded in its previous environment. Could be wrong as that PCM has nearly everything controlled within its evil empire.
