Echo shakes at stop light with brake on

My 2003 Echo shakes a stop lights with the brake pedal pressed. It is a lot worse with the air conditioner on. It doesn't do it at any other times. Thanks Rylan

Welcome to TN~!

Questions to make sure it's not the mechanical working parts ie...the rotor/pads/wheels.

It doesn't pull to one side when you brake?
All the fluids are full?
Last time you got it serviced?

Do you have an auto or manual?

Questions wondering if it's the engine mounts:
With the hood open do you see it jiggle more than usual?
With your foot FIRMLY PLANTED ON THE BRAKES,
with parking/emergency brakes on, set to 1st or D and gently reev the engine. Do the same in reverse. Lots of movement?
**BESURE NO ONE IS IN FRONT OR BACK OF YOU.

Brake lights aren't broken, I just don't brake.

shaky echo

It is an automatic. I just bought it. On the test drive I didn't notice the shake. when I started to drive it off I noticed the shake. I took it right back and the sales person said the belts were probably wet from when they washed the car just before I took delivery. It has new oil and transmittion fluid. I am taking it back in the morning to have it looked at. This is the Reliable Toyota Dealership in Springfield MO. I thought I had a great deal. 2003 78,000 miles. $6,000.

Ahh, if it's just the belts and it might just be a great deal yet. Please check back in after they've solved the problem.

shaking echo fixed sort of

I took the echo in this morning and it was back out the door in 45 min. Good turn around time. They said it was a loose (air box ?) whatever that is. They also said some shaking was normal for the echo. I can live with it now. Thanks for all the help. Rylan
