Echo 2001, will not start after installing ignition coils
So to start off, my check engine light came on a while back. Multiple "repeat" errors for misfires (the random error and each specific cylinder were listed)
I changed out my spark plugs (iridium) and that seemed to help a little. But the errors were still there. So I bought the very expensive ignition coils, installed them and now my car won't even start. I put the old coils back in thinking the new ones were bad and now same issue as with the new coils. SO I put the new ones back in.
Here is what happens when I try and start the car. It seems like the started is trying to turn, but the engine doesn't quite get there. It makes a lot of noise ( a lot more than a few clicks) and even seems to lunge or shake. But ultimately it does not turn.
I put on a portable battery jumper, just in case it was the battery, and tried with that. no success.
I'm wondering if it is a bad starter or if the starter is doing what it is supposed to since there is so much noise.
Could it be a problem with the fuel to air mix?
Also when I put the new coils back in the second time I checked one spark plug. It looked really dirty for only being a few weeks old. AND I looked down into the combustion chamber and it looked a little dirty too. Like specs of ash were in there.
I was thinking I should go get some fuel injector cleaner and put it in my tank but if it isn't getting delivered because the car won't turn on then what good will it do?
Also note, I have gas in it, but not a lot. less than 1/4 of a tank. But I don't even have the gas light on yet.
gosh this is a long post.
Thanks in advance
