Toyota Yaris Multiple Airbag Lights

Hi

My Toyota Yaris Sedan has three lights for Passenger Airbag and they read as follows:.

1- Airbag - Always lit.
2- OFF - Works properly. OFF when no passenger.
3- ON - Lit on when an Adult is seated.

All three of them come on upon ignition start and then OFF and ON lights go off. Is there a problem. I am concerned about Airbag part of the light. Should it be always on ?

Toyota could have simply printed Airbag after Passenger at the top. Why they needed an LED for it ? Owners manual and Toyota forums are all silent on this subject.

Best Regards

It's working correctly. You're right, it could have been done simpler, but that's how they made it.

The only problem would be if someone was sitting in the passenger seat and it said the airbag was off. But you can test it yourself simply by pressing firmly down on the seat and see it switch to on and then off when you lift up your hand. This will also trigger the passenger seat belt warning.
