2000 Echo gas tank problem

It now takes me at least 10 minutes to fill my tank because the hose keeps stopping as if the tank is full...even though I have pumped less than $1 when it starts doing this. I know other Echos have this problem. Does anyone know if there is a recall about this? If not, how do you fix it?

I have not had this problem but have heard that there is a small vent line that runs up the filler neck that gets clogged with rust and that prevents the tank from venting when filling. Hope this helps.
