You might want to look for one of two packages.

1- weather package.
or
2 - Power package.

I have the power package, I wanted my power accessories. Weather package gives you such things a larger alternator and larger wiper fluid container.

If you can do without all these things, You might save some money. The base model does not have a stereo but is already wired for one, so you just need to add your own.

Of course these are US versions, you might be able to pick and choose your options.

Got mine with air and had to have power widows and cruise package to get the air,no big deal but i'm not crazy about power windows.. as you are from Canada the 4qt capacity of the windshield washer is almost mandatory as one slushy run home from work can easily use a quart of the blue juice..Now is a good time to buy a Toyota as every one is scared about the current throttle problems with other models of Toyotas, the Yaris is not on that recall list, resale value will remain high especially if gas prices get back up to $5 a gallon, which is probably a sure bet.

id suggest the power package....i had a rental w/o power locks and it was a PAIN getting the rear doors unlocked! base base models are easy to pick out of a crowd because they have black trim on the trunk and black door handles. the non-base models have a chrome trim piece over the plate on the trunk intead of black...
