Anyone used ramps on a 1st gen Echo?

I've been working on my car for a while using the old jack/stand combo but a friend has borrowed these items and I want to get under my car to check my O2 sensors. I bought a set of ramps last year second hand, and was a little dismayed to discover that I couldn't drive up them without the front bumper off.

So my question is this. Has anyone had success with getting an echo up on ramps for a quick look-see? Was I unlucky with rather large ramps, or is the Echo just too low to make this a feasible option?

Thanks

U can try to drive up a road curve. 2 wheels on the curve, 2 wheels on the road.

I found the best way to get under the engine bay is to jack it up on the front pass side, and put a jack stand there to hold it just in case. I also put a chock under the opposite back wheel.

Your ramps are too large. They definitely make ramps that work for the echo, I have used them multiple times.
When looking for jacks, ramps and stands to work on cars always look for ones with names like 'race jacks' 'race ramps' I have found that these are often much lower. Or they call them 'low profile'

A very simple solution I used for years with an Acura Integra I had was to lay a short section of 2x4 wood just in front of each ramp, then drive up them. That two inches was enough to get the low front bumper high enough so that it would clear the ramps. You might want to give that a try.
