Tires for 2008 Yaris Sedan

Im about to replace the factory tires on my 2008 4 dr Sedan Yaris for the first time. I feel someone pressured to go to Toyota because of the tire pressure sensors involved. Will any local tire shop know how these work and have them continue functioning with any new set of tires they sell or is this something only Toyota can do ? Also assuming I go with the same grade tire, am I looking at $50 a piece, $100 a piece ? Thanks for any replies.

Yes, any tire shop will know how to put tires on a car with TPMS sensors and reprogram them if necessary. When I used to work at Walmart we were able to do that, and if Walmart can do it, I sure hope other shops can too. lol. But no, you do not need to go to a Toyota dealer and get the work done.

No need to go to Toyota. They overcharge and most shops can deal with the TPMS.
If price is an issue then here is what I do to save on tires. I go to Tires-easy.com where they have excellent deals. I order the tires and then have a reasonable shop install them or put them on myself. By doing this I am able to get good tires on my cars for less than walmart charges for some of their cheapest tires.

As already been posted, no worries. As long as you are on the same wheels and the only thing being replaced is the tires shop wherever you wish. The sensors themselves are on the valve stems and should cause you no worries unless the shop you go to doesn't know how to handle them.

So shop by your own standards and have no worries.
