When looking in the back of a 2010 Yaris hatchback, I couldn't find the jack. Perplexed, I looked all over the place and found it under the driver's seat.....wtf? Why put it there when it will fit perfectly in the hatch area of the Yaris?

LOL... lots of surprises. In this case you DON'T WANT the surprise of not knowing where your jack is while 50 miles from the nearest civilized area. All the Yaris versions have it under the driver's seat. Definitely good to know for flats.

I just don't get why.....I mean, it would fit just fine in the back of the car where pretty much EVERY other car has the freakin' thing. Oh well. Now I know....kinda glad I don't drive one and got a flat.

LOL. I'm sure there is some logic to it. Might be they were trying to maximize cargo space in the trunk. Where else could you put a device that is rarely used but under the seat? I could think of other things but that's just theory, the important thing is that the owners know where it is for emergencies.

i found it after i had a flat, there aren't really many other places to look. I think i had the owners manual in the car to look. I still was able to change the flat and make it into work on time.
