How do I soften the throttle response?

I've got a 2000 Echo and find the throttle response to be a bit too jumpy, especially in 1st and 2nd. Is there any way I can soften this?

are you sure someone didn't slip a turbocharger under the hood?
not sure what you mean about 'jumpy'. it's not a case of the throttle butterfly or cable being sticky?

If it's a cable, the answer is no. It's mechanically linked. If it's electronic, it might be able to be tuned from the ECM.

my butterfly sticks a tiny bit sometimes; maybe he's having the same problem
