Angry 2000 echo rear seal or bearing?

HI need some help took 2000 echo to repair shop to fix rear main seal told that echo seals are not known to leak that it may be crank or bearing out of balance that could rub and wear out leaking oil between engine and trans meet by crank inspection cover thought it was seal only wants to put cam up crank inspection cover to see what cuasing leak wants 150 to do any one ever heard of out of balance bearing THanks

There seems to be a couple of issues: the rear main seal could be leaking, and there's no cheap fix short of pulling the tranny and doing the seal; if you can get this done for $150 go for it! I don't understand what you might have out-of-balance.
