2007 Yaris E-Brake Light + ABS Light

I drive a '07 Yaris and I noticed that the E-brake light came on and did not turn off when I let the parking brake off. Same with the ABS light; it stays on for no reason.

Why is this?

I heard some people say that there is something wrong with the electrical wiring in the rear wheel wells, while some people say that the ABS sensor is gone.

The manual tells me to stop immediately and go to a stealership... don't really trust them, to be honest.

So any Yaris owners encounter this before? What did you do? Did it work?

Thanks.

Sounds like you have a faulty rear wheel speed sensor. Very common on these cars. You'll need at minimum a rear hub (as the sensor is no longer available separately). You may also need the harness that connects to the sensor. I think the harness is about $54. The hub is about $700 installed (here in Canada anyway).
Your hydraulic brakes will still work. You just won't have the abs feature.

You can also try disconnecting the sensor wiring and cleaning the contacts, then lubricating with some dielectric grease before reconnecting everything. It's outlined with some good pictures in this thread on YarisWorld: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...=11533&page=13
