Echo Front Grill and Logo

I'm wondering how easy it would be to remove the stock grill and front toyota emblem on my 2005 Echo Hatchback? Im planning on re-painting my grill, logo, and hub caps to a dark grey semi gloss to make it look a little nicer. Anyone have any ideas if you can remove/re-install them without much difficulty?

Not sure about the '05, but I had no prob removing the grill from my '00; just a few tabs to release. I first painted mine red, and then decided silver was better suited to my black coupe.

Ah ok should be pretty simple then, and you could probably help me on my next question. What type of paint would you recomend for this? I was thinking spray paint should work just fine eh? And would I need to use a primer? The grill is all plastic, the other ones, as we as the logo are too.

I used Krylon spray paint without a primer, but did a few clear coats over that. A primer would probably work better, but any small road debris that catches will cause nicks no matter what you do. The removal of the front emblem would leave holes to fill- a PITA.

I never thought of clear coat but now that i do, it does make sence. I've been looking around the hood, and I cant find any bolts or pegs holding the front logo on... I kinda wanted to black it out but I would have to be able to remove it and then put it back on.

I thought that I read somewhere about it being rivited it on, but I might have misread. If it's like the Toyota logo (print) on the back of my car it can easily be removed with dental floss.

Did you manage to remove the front logo? You could try to work it off with the floss and see what happens... How were you going to black it out?

I was planning on ether painting it black or the same color as my grill once I repaint that.
