2003 Echo - Color of Power Steering Fluid? - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

What color should the Power Steering Fluid be. I bought this car not too long ago and noticed the Power Steering fluid is a honey colored fluid, almost similar to motor oil. The Cap of the Power Steering resivour states to use Dexron ATF, the ATF that I have always seen is a bright red. Is the wrong fluid in here?

If you feel that the previous owner maintained the car well otherwise, you could leave it.
If your unsure about that, maybe you should flush it. I think dedicated power steering fluid is clear / slightly amber.
