finiky door switch for dome light and buzzer

HI! I have a 2001 Echo and have had a problem with the door switch that controls the dome light since '03 I have asked the dealership 3 times about it... they put a $30 peice of felt pad on the inside of my door and charged $80 to think about that little peice of felt b/c they didn't understand what I was explaining to them. So instead of complaining more, i gave up and dealt with it, causeing a few jumps needed for my battery over time,.. (brunette on the outside, blonde on the inside)

when there is high heat and humidity it is more likely to work.. otherwise, the light will not come on for the driverside open door, and buzzer will not signal for key in the ignition... (but light will turn on for the passenger side open door)... If i press up on the little switch at the door, it will come on... i am guessing something is not connecting, but i am afraid to dismantle with out knowing what to do... Help? Please!

my 10 year anniversary is coming up with owning my Echo, and i wanted to finally try to fix this

Sometimes I have seen where the pressure switch sticks in the in position and by doing so the dome light will not come on. Try a little lube on the switch.

It maybe a little rusty inside.
