2012 yaris

looks like the 2012 yaris has the guages in front of the driver! Just like any other car.

"Inside, look for a more conventional interior with gauges mounted directly in front of the driver rather than in a central pod. We expect that North American models will receive more features than before in an effort to better compete with more modern rivals.
For North America, Yaris’ 1.5-liter four-cylinder could carry over, although a larger 1.8-liter unit remains a distinct possibility. Toyota is reportedly working on hybrid and electric version of the next Yaris, although it will likely be a few years before we see those models"

What do you thinkabout that?

LOL...as an owner, the gauges was fine but if they have to "mainstream " it to sell it, they must. I am definitely a fan of the car. I would definitely get another Yaris down the road.

I'm very interested in the hybrid!

Brake lights aren't broken, I just don't brake.

To overcome the minimal instrumentation I have installed the ScanGaugeII. It's worth the extra$, I set it to display the temperature, voltage, rpm and the on the dynamic fuel consumption. That helps.

When is the '12 Yaris supposed to be released...or even debut the USDM version? Did the Earthquake throw a wrench into those plans?

Look out for a world debut of the new 2012 Toyota Yaris at November’s 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show
and guess what - it will be bigger than the current version, 2inch longer wheelbase and 4 inches overall both 1.3 and 1.5-liter four-cylinder engines are expected, which should ensure the new 2012 Toyota Yaris is the automaker’s most fuel efficient model in the U.S
