2004 echo

Hello T-Nation !

Has anyone had a problem with their side mirror ? My passenger side mirror now gives me a great view of the pavement. The control arm still moves the mirror somewhat but it always springs back to the same position ( pavement view) !!! Anybody have any repair info on this thing ?

Still can't seem to get too angry bout this since the car has been great so far !

Cheers

Yeah, the cables inside the mirror corrode and get stuck in that position.

No offence you're screwed. On mine the cable pulled out of the nylon insert I had to replace the whole side mirror. About 20 min and 35 bucks for a used side mirror from Doms. (Auto Wreckers)

Canada How to replace the mirror?

My daughter is in the same situation. I like to do most repairs myself, but don't want to jump in blind, and end up breaking something just to get at the mirror. Can you give me any tips on removing the old mirror and installing a used one??
Would really appreciate it!
