2000 IAC Valve Question
G'day folks!
Last time I had trouble with my Echo, I got the help I needed to fix my car myself on this forum, saving myself a bout 400 bucks. Now I have another simple question that I cannot seem to find the answer to at the moment.
My car has been having trouble starting as it's getting colder in the mornings, my tach is running at 700-800rpm for a short time after it kicks over, but even when starting it, it almost stalled. Yesterday we got our first morning of frost. I went out the start my car, and it stalled. I tried it again with my foot on the accelerator, and it kept running, but barely, until it warmed up some, then it runs fine.
After a look online and a trip to have my car scanned, the code comes back as the IAC valve. I had a look at it today, pulled the air intake off and cleaned the throttle body with spray cleaner, making sure I put a fair amount into the hole leading to the sensor. I left it dry for 20mins, and tried starting the car. It wouldn't start the first time, but the second time it ran fine, but still the hesitation.
So, I had another look around, and I discovered that there is a short cable that leads from the IAC valve around to beside the throttle body. The cord is badly corroded right before the connection to the IAC. I just nudged it and one of them crumbled. Somehow my car still starts even after that, but I'd definatley peg that as the problem.
Now, all that being said, I can't get ahold of any auto part stores until Monday as they are all closed, so I looked online to find out what the name of this cord is, and I cannot find anything.
This is going to sound kind of noobish, but what is the connector cord actually called?
Thanks in advance!
