Noise in Higher Gears

I'm new here and hope to get some help.

My 2000 toyota echo 5 speed manual began making a noticable, but not really loud grinding sound up front, more like it was lacking lubrication somewhere. This happens to a greater degree in higher gears, and stops when clutch is depressed. what could possibly be the issue. it gets somewhat louder after several miles of driving, but not a horribly loud sound.

I'm getting an oil change tomorrow, should I ask them to change the trans oil also? if yes, how much should I expect that to cost?

Thanks!
SAM

same thing happened to mine, and ended killing my tranny. Go to a tranny shop, and get the throwout bearing checked.

Canada Noisy Trans.

Change the oil in the trans with "Red Line MT 90 4G oil" this will quite the operation of all gears and synchronizers. (It takes 2 qts)

As for the through out bearing, it will only be noisy when activated. (Clutch pedal depressed)
