USA 2000 Echo-195,000 miles -- engine noise when shifting gears

Hello Toyota Nationals. It's a great thing to have discovered this site. I am a proud owner of the wonderful Echo for 11 years. Paint is perfect, interior pretty much like new and the engine has been performing flawlessly. However, recently, I noticed some engine noise when shifting from 2nd gear to 3rd, and so on up to the 5th. The noise is more pronounced when the engine is cold. So, I figured I have a small leak and losing transmission fluid. Sure enough, when the car got lifted, there was a leak. The question is: do I just replace the seals and add the transmission fluid? Also, in the meantime, I want to add the fluid but could not find the port, or any dip stick. Which fluid is best?
Hope to hear from someone soon.

Hello, and welcome to Toyota Nation! By your description of the exterior of you Echo it sounds like perhaps you park out in the boonies like I do to protect your baby. Let me move your thread over to the Echo forum so the other members there can help you out....
