Question how long is factory installed battery good for?

Hi I have an o8 yaris sedan I drive in all season weather, a bit under average mileage. Its four yrs old now.
Wondering how long the factory installed battery will last? the dealer didnt know what to tell me over the phone.
Said have it tested, I doubt thats ness' yet, I hope but I dont want any surprises.
Thanks for assist

EDITED TO update: My car was being inspected so I had them check it, it was almost dead so I had it replaced. But shouldnt the factory battery of lived longer? should I of went to toyota and asked for something in replacement or allowance? The mechanic (who is a friend, said factory batt usually on do 4 or 5 yrs in his experience. ????

Certainly not a battery expert but I would say 4-5 years is typical for a battery. Don't think there would have been any warranty for that in your case. I've had one last 8 years in a new Camry but I think that's pretty rare.

Replace after five years, IMO. After that you're running on borrowed time and batteries have a knack of failing at the worst possible times.

I change mine out every 4 years regardless of mileage, hate to be stranded out somewhere with the family awaiting a jump or a tow. Look in your owners manual or warranty brochure for how long your battery should be covered.

Mine lasted 7 (was OEM Toyota or whatever brand before Toyota rebranded and took off the convenient battery strap) and died when I left the door open open one night. Your miles may vary, but anything over 5 is usually never covered by warranty.

I get the top-of-the-line model that has up to 7 years pro-rated warranty. They rarely last that long but the gimmick is I get some price off the replacement 4 or 5 years down the road. As they say, "Don't scrimp on tires or batteries".
