Yaris and Echo Interchangeable Parts?

I need to know if the Trunk Locking Mechanism/Assy are interchangeable with the Yaris and Echo?

If so, do they need to come from the same year? I have a Toyota Echo 2002 and the trunk locking mechanism is broken (won't close) but I can only find a Toyota Yaris Trunk Mechanism/Assy for a 2007 - 2010?

Will this work or should I keep looking?

Any help would be appropriated . . .

I'm going to make an educated guess and say no. I don't know or even think the 2003-05 ECHO's will have the same mechanism only cause I know the trunk was redesigned different from the 02's. And yes I do have an 03.

You could look online for the part if you want to try to stay cheap. Best of luck.
