Trunk spoiler question.

I have a 2003 echo with no trunk spoiler attached. I recently purchased a factory trunk spoiler on ebay however, some hardware was missing. Now the dealer states that the echo came with two versions of trunk lids..one that would accommodate the spoiler and the one that I have that does not. My question is are there any structural differences between the both, and did I just throw $$ away buying this spoiler

The lid that is equipped for a spoiler usually has the holes drilled already

It might take some courage to drill holes in a perfectly good trunk lid, but if you want the spoiler that may be your only option. My 2000 sedan came with one and I'd give it away in a second, as a snow catcher and rust promoter. Were it feasible I'd swap you whole trunk lids and we'd both be happier, ... D

^^I have a feeling the 03-05 spoilers are different. Cause the trunk is actually different.

trunk spoiler

I pretty sure it can be installed..any not afraid to drill holes (measure 10X drill once). Just wasn't sure if there would be a structural issue.
